Question 1

Who installs seamless gutters in Corpus Christi and Portland, TX?

Accepted Answer

J Seamless Gutters is a family-run seamless gutter installer based in Portland, TX, serving Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. Owner and installer James forms each gutter right at your home. Call (361) 263-2518 for a free estimate.

Question 2

Do seamless gutters hold up in coastal salt air?

Accepted Answer

Seamless aluminum works well near the coast because aluminum doesn't rust the way steel does. Fewer seams also means fewer joints for salty moisture to work into.

Question 3

Do you serve Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Ingleside?

Accepted Answer

Yes, along with Portland, Gregory, Taft, Sinton, Corpus Christi, and Victoria. If your town isn't listed, give us a call and ask.

Question 4

What are 1800 series hangers?

Accepted Answer

They're heavy-duty hidden hangers that hold the gutter firmly to the fascia. We use them so your gutters stay snug, don't rattle in the wind, and don't sag over time.

Question 5

What gutter material do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use Senox materials, formed into gutters right at your house so every run fits your roofline.

Question 6

What does "formed on site in one continuous piece" mean?

Accepted Answer

We bring the gutter machine to your home and roll each gutter to the exact length of that side of the house. There are no joints along the straight runs, only fitted corners.

Question 7

Who owns J Seamless Gutters?

Accepted Answer

James owns it and does the installs himself. It's family-run and locally owned, so you deal with the same people from the estimate to the cleanup.

Question 8

Do I need gutters on a house in South Texas?

Accepted Answer

Gutters carry roof water away from your foundation, walkways, siding, and flower beds, which helps a lot in heavy Gulf Coast rain. We're happy to look at your home and give you an honest recommendation.

Question 9

Do you install gutters on new construction?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on new builds as well as existing homes.

Question 10

Can you add gutters to just one side of my house or over a patio?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can cover just the spots that need it, like a back patio, garage, or entryway, with the same seamless finish.

Question 11

What colors do seamless gutters come in?

Accepted Answer

Seamless aluminum comes in a range of colors to match your trim, and we'll go over the options during your free estimate.

Question 12

How do I get a free estimate?

Accepted Answer

Call or text (361) 263-2518, or use the estimate form on the website. We'll come out, measure, and give you a written estimate. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.

Question 13

What makes a gutter “seamless”?

Accepted Answer

The long runs are formed on site from a single coil, so you do not have a joint every ten feet. Corners and outlets are still cut and fitted. The point is fewer leak paths along the eave.

Question 14

Do you charge for estimates?

Accepted Answer

Estimates are free. We measure at the house, then give you a written estimate for installation, replacement, or repair. Call (361) 263-2518 or use the estimate form.

Question 15

What are your hours?

Accepted Answer

Listed hours are Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Sunday is closed. We return messages during those hours.

Question 16

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

J Seamless Gutters is a service-area business serving Portland, TX and the Coastal Bend. We come to your home. We do not run a retail storefront.

Question 17

Have you been in business since 2005?

Accepted Answer

No. James and the family have lived in the Coastal Bend since 2005 — that’s our roots as neighbors. J Seamless Gutters is a younger, locally owned company. We form gutters on site and hang them right the first time.

Question 18

Which cities do you serve?

Accepted Answer

Portland, Corpus Christi, Robstown, Gregory, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Taft, Sinton, Odem, Port Aransas, Victoria, and Port Lavaca — plus nearby addresses we can reasonably route. If you are unsure, call and ask.

Question 19

Will gutters help in hurricane season?

Accepted Answer

They help everyday and seasonal rain leave the roof without soaking the fascia. They are not a storm-surge system. We install for Coastal Bend weather and we do not sell fear.

Question 20

5-inch or 6-inch gutters — which do you recommend?

Accepted Answer

We always suggest 6-inch for most Coastal Bend homes. Five-inch can work on a small roof with light pitch, but six-inch carries more water when a squall sits over the house. For the nerdy detail: a typical 6-inch K-style profile has about 50% more cross-section capacity than a common 5-inch profile (rough rule of thumb — exact numbers depend on the coil profile). That extra room matters when downspouts are sized to match. We also pair larger gutters with appropriately sized outlets and downspouts so the eave is not the bottleneck.

Question 21

How do you size gutters and downspouts for my roof?

Accepted Answer

We look at roof area draining to each run, pitch, and how many outlets make sense so water leaves the eave instead of ponding. On the estimate visit we measure the house and recommend gutter size, outlet count, and downspout size/placement so the slab and landscaping stay drier. Call (361) 263-2518 or use the estimate form if you want us to walk it.

Question 22

How much do seamless gutters cost?

Accepted Answer

Every home is different, so we give free written estimates after we measure at the house. Call (361) 263-2518 or use the estimate form.

Question 23

Can you replace old sectional gutters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many Coastal Bend homes still have short sectional pieces with a joint every ten feet. We remove what is failing, form continuous aluminum on site, and hang a system sized for the roof. If a repair will hold, we say so; if the sectional system is finished, we recommend replacement honestly.

Question 24

How long does an install usually take?

Accepted Answer

Most single-family homes finish in one to two days once materials are on site, depending on size, height, and weather. We clean up before we leave and walk the job with you. Larger or multi-story homes can take longer — we set expectations on the estimate.

Question 25

Will seamless gutters handle heavy Coastal Bend rain?

Accepted Answer

A correctly sized seamless system gives squalls one continuous channel instead of a leaky joint every few feet, and outlets sized so water leaves the roof. They help everyday and seasonal rain. They are not a storm-surge or flood barrier. For hurricane-season framing we already answer that separately — this question is about ordinary heavy rain and wet weeks.

Question 26

Do you have a showroom in Portland?

Accepted Answer

No. J Seamless Gutters is a service-area contractor. We come to your Portland home, measure on site, and give a free estimate. Serving Portland, TX and the Coastal Bend is the point — not a retail counter.

Question 27

How fast can you estimate a Portland house?

Accepted Answer

Call (361) 263-2518 or send the estimate form. Listed hours are Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday closed. Most homes in Portland and Gregory can be measured on a regular workday once we confirm the address and roof access.

Question 28

Will seamless gutters help during a hard Portland storm?

Accepted Answer

They help water leave the roof in a continuous channel instead of leaking at every joint. They are not a flood wall. We talk through downspout placement so runoff is steered away from the slab, not dumped at the front door.

Question 29

Do you work all of Corpus Christi or only the harbor side?

Accepted Answer

We serve Corpus Christi homeowners in the residential areas we are called to — Southside, Calallen, Flour Bluff, and island-adjacent streets. Bayfront and island-side houses deal with more salt air and coastal wind; Southside and Calallen deal with the heavy downpours. If your address is inside the city and the roof is safely accessible, ask. We will tell you yes or no without a runaround.

Question 30

Can you match gutters on a house that already has some seamless runs?

Accepted Answer

Often yes, including a house that already has a partial seamless run. We match profile and color as closely as current coil stock allows and keep the new rain gutters on the same pitch as the existing outlets. Bring photos if you want a first pass before we measure.

Question 31

Is there a Corpus trip charge?

Accepted Answer

Corpus Christi is a core city on our service list, not an outlier — Southside, Calallen, Flour Bluff, and island-adjacent addresses included. The estimate you get is for the work on your house. Call (361) 263-2518 and we will schedule a look during listed hours, Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Question 32

Do you actually serve Robstown, or only Corpus Christi?

Accepted Answer

Robstown is a listed city we serve — Nueces County, west of Corpus, not a leftover on a Corpus page. Call (361) 263-2518 or send the estimate form. We measure at your address.

Question 33

Can you gutter a house and a shop on the same lot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when both structures have fascia that can take hangers. We can do the house now and the shop later if you want.

Question 34

What about addresses toward Banquete or out Highway 44?

Accepted Answer

If we can route it with our Coastal Bend week, we will. Give us the road name when you call. We will tell you yes or no without a runaround — same as Odem, Sinton, and the west side of Corpus.

Question 35

Are you actually local to Gregory?

Accepted Answer

We are based in Portland and serve Gregory as a primary town, not a maybe. The phone number on this page, (361) 263-2518, is the number to call for a Gregory estimate.

Question 36

Can you do a small house without a huge minimum?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Gregory has plenty of modest footprints. We measure the linear footage, corners, and outlets at your house and give a free written estimate. No franchise package tiers.

Question 37

What if only the back of the house is leaking?

Accepted Answer

We can repair or replace a single elevation when that is the honest fix. If the rest of the system is the same age and already opening at the joints, we will tell you a full replacement will last longer.

Question 38

Do you serve Ingleside on the Bay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ingleside and Ingleside on the Bay are both on our service list. Waterfront exposure is part of the conversation — we look at hangers, pitch, and how water leaves the lot.

Question 39

Will salt air eat new gutters?

Accepted Answer

Aluminum seamless gutters are the usual choice on the Coastal Bend because they do not rust the way bare steel does. We still use quality fasteners and keep cuts clean. No gutter is maintenance-free in salt air, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Question 40

Can you add downspouts that drain away from the slab?

Accepted Answer

That is often the real fix. We look at grade, flower beds, and sidewalks so the new outlets do not recreate the puddle you already have.

Question 41

Can you work around a metal roof in Aransas Pass?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. We look at the drip edge, fascia depth, and how the panel sheds water. If the roof detail is unusual, we tell you what will and will not hold a gutter line before we start.

Question 42

Do you only install, or will you take old gutters down?

Accepted Answer

Replacement includes removal of the existing sectional or damaged seamless runs, haul-off of the old metal, and a clean fascia ready for the new coil.

Question 43

How do I get on the schedule?

Accepted Answer

Call (361) 263-2518 or use the estimate form. Tell us the Aransas Pass address, stories, and whether the house is occupied. We measure on site and give you a free written estimate.

Question 44

Do you work in Fulton as well as Rockport?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Rockport and Fulton are the same peninsula for our routing. If you are on the Live Oak Peninsula and the roof is accessible, ask for a measure.

Question 45

I only use the house on weekends. Can you still estimate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can meet a caretaker, a family member, or you on a Saturday. Listed hours include Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Sunday is closed.

Question 46

Should I wait until after hurricane season?

Accepted Answer

If the current gutters already leak, waiting only lets more water into the fascia. We install year-round and plan around weather. We will not climb in unsafe wind, and we will not upsell fear.

Question 47

Is Taft far enough that you will never show up?

Accepted Answer

No. Taft is a listed city we optimize and serve. It sits with Sinton, Gregory, and Portland on our regular map. If we cannot make a date, we say so before you wait around.

Question 48

Can you gutter a house and a detached shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when both structures have fascia that can take hangers. We can phase the work if you want.

Question 49

Do I need leaf guards in Taft?

Accepted Answer

Only if the trees actually load the trough. We would rather talk about your specific trees than sell a guard on every job. Cleaning a seamless gutter is still part of homeownership.

Question 50

Do you serve addresses outside the city limits?

Accepted Answer

Often yes, if they are in the Sinton area and the roof is accessible. Give us the road name when you call (361) 263-2518. We will tell you if it is on our route.

Question 51

Can you color-match existing trim?

Accepted Answer

We work from standard coil colors and will bring samples or photos so you can pick the closest match. Custom paint is a different conversation; most Sinton jobs use a standard color that already fits the brick and soffit.

Question 52

What should I do before you arrive?

Accepted Answer

Clear vehicles from the side you want measured, kennel pets, and note any leaks you have already seen. We bring ladders. You do not need to get on the roof.

Question 53

Why does Odem have its own page?

Accepted Answer

Because we actually serve Odem, and homeowners here should not have to borrow a Corpus landing page. The copy, examples, and links are for this town — then we show up at your address.

Question 54

How long does a typical Odem install take?

Accepted Answer

Many one-story homes are a single work window once materials are on site. Two-story sections, steep pitch, or rotten fascia add time. We give you that read after the measure, not after we are already on the ladder.

Question 55

Do you haul the old gutters away?

Accepted Answer

Yes on replacement jobs. Old sections, spikes, and scrap leave with us unless you want to keep a piece. The site should look like a house again, not a metal pile.

Question 56

Do you work on short-term rentals in Port Aransas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can coordinate with an owner or a local manager, work around turnovers when possible, and keep the site clean enough that the next guest is not stepping over scrap.

Question 57

Is the ferry a problem for scheduling?

Accepted Answer

It is a planning detail, not a reason to skip the town. We build island jobs into the week with weather and access in mind. Listed hours are Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Sunday is closed.

Question 58

What about HOA or city design rules?

Accepted Answer

Bring any color or profile rules you have. We work from standard coil colors and common profiles. If a restriction makes a proper install impossible, we tell you before you pay for metal.

Question 59

Do you actually come to Victoria, or only the Corpus / Portland area?

Accepted Answer

Victoria is a listed city we serve. Call (361) 263-2518 or send the estimate form. We measure at your address — not a borrowed Corpus landing page.

Question 60

Is there a Victoria trip charge?

Accepted Answer

The estimate you get is for the work on your house. Victoria is on our service list with Port Lavaca, Sinton, and Corpus Christi. We will tell you if a date will not work before you wait around.

Question 61

Can you gutter a house and a shop on the same lot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when both structures have fascia that can take hangers. We can phase the work if you want.

Question 62

Do you serve Port Lavaca or only Victoria?

Accepted Answer

Both. Port Lavaca is a listed city on its own page. Call (361) 263-2518 or use the estimate form. We measure at the house.

Question 63

Will salt air eat new gutters?

Accepted Answer

Aluminum seamless gutters are the usual choice on this bay because they do not rust the way bare steel does. We still use quality fasteners and keep cuts clean. No gutter is maintenance-free in salt air, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Question 64

Can you work around plant-shift or weekend-only schedules?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Listed hours include Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Sunday is closed. Tell us who will meet us and whether the house is occupied.
